My Work
A snapshot of my projects
Press release and a blog for Westraven Community Cafe & Garden
I recently helped to spread the word about Westraven Community Cafe & Garden CIO and its amazing work bringing the local community together to tackle the climate emergency.
In 2022, they ran a full programme of more than 70 activities, events and workshops that reached an amazing 1,000+ participants over the course of the year. The sessions brought the community together to work collectively towards tackling the challenges of climate change. Westraven continues to do amazing things and I can’t wait to see what is achieved in 2023 too.
Articles in The Moment magazine
I was commissioned to write a series of articles for The Moment magazine. The publication celebrates and champions the residents, individuals, charities and organisations of Peterborough and Stamford. My articles include:

Getting your voice heard
Where can you turn…
Buying for baby
Producing Rae Bird Yoga promotional materials
I worked together with Rae Bird Yoga to support the creation of seasonal promotional materials, designed to bring new participants to the sessions.
Rae Bird Yoga is a gentle practice that benefits mobility, balance and co-ordination. Using movement, breath and relaxation techniques, it is a journey of self-care towards greater kindness to yourself, and to a place of calm and inner peace. Through a fusion of yoga styles from functional to flow, it helps you optimise your mental and physical wellbeing.
Telling the Ingenious Gifts story
Andrew and Michelle approached me to help tell the story behind Ingenious Gifts. Their online marketplace was launched after Michelle’s devastating diagnosis in 2019 of a brain tumour, just six months after the birth of their son.
Approximately 16,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour in the UK every year, yet the research for a cure remains chronically underfunded. The family’s online marketplace supports ethical businesses – plus every sale raises donations for The Brain Tumour Charity.
I helped tell the Ingenious Gifts story and raised the profile of the business by encouraging local and regional media pick-up.
Launching Andy's Man Club at The Mill Birth and Wellbeing Centre
I helped to promote the launch of Andy’s Man Club at The Mill Birth and Wellbeing Centre, near Stamford, with a media release that gained coverage in a number of regional publications.
On average one man every two hours takes his life in the UK. It is said that a contributing factor is that men don’t often talk about how they are feeling. Andy’s Man Club is a weekly group that is designed to bring men together, get them talking, and to help attendees weather the storms in life.
A rebrand and website launch for PECT
I was responsible for developing and directly delivering the marketing and communications strategy for this charity, profiling PECT nationally as well as achieving city-wide engagement.
For the charity’s 25th year working to create sustainable places, I relaunched its visual identity with new branding, literature and a website, positioning the organisation as an innovative charity.
I looked for opportunities to place opinion pieces, articles and features in a wide range of publications, and formed partnerships to continue to build upon the charity’s profile and reach.
Creating a brand identity for Peterborough's heritage attractions
Vivacity was an independent, not-for-profit organisation that managed many of Peterborough’s most popular culture and leisure facilities.
For this project, I created new promotional literature for three heritage attractions: Flag Fen, Peterborough Museum, and Longthorpe Tower. I developed a strong brand identity for these cultural attractions through a series of leaflets, brochures, adverts, banners and point of sale materials. The aim was to link these sites with a shared identity and raise their profile both locally and nationally.
Local media coverage for Refill Revolution
When Refill Revolution decided to launch a new Peterborough shop as an ethical alternative to regular grocery shopping, I helped them achieve local press coverage to raise the business profile.
The sustainable store provides low-impact and sustainable alternatives to every-day household items as well as offering zero waste refills of dry foods, household liquids and toiletries – sold by weight directly into customers’ own containers. Many of the products are vegan friendly and they are all cruelty free.
Planet B arrives in Cambridgeshire
Peterborough is home to one of the longest running and largest Green Festivals in the UK, and in 2017 it took on a new life as ‘Planet B’. Planet B was a two-week programme of events, performances, film screenings, workshops, commissioned artworks, and a conference – all around encouraging discussion and debate on sustainability.
The environmental charity PECT, working alongside arts organisation Metal and The Green Backyard and with funding from Arts Council England, ran Planet B, which I was responsible for promoting. I did this through a series of articles, press releases and blogs to guarantee extensive coverage.
Promoting the Heritage Festival
For three years in a row I worked on the promotional campaign for Peterborough Heritage Festival, until it reached in excess of 30,000 visitors to the city centre over the two-day event.
I had responsibility for devising the marketing campaign, managing budgets and suppliers, commissioning artwork and raising the profile of the Festival through press releases and articles.
